The XTAR VC2 USB Battery Charger stands out as the world’s very first lithium-ion charger to incorporate a distinctive tachometer-style LCD display. This innovative feature gives users real-time insights into the charging process, making it far easier to understand the status and performance of their batteries at a glance.

Built with advanced smart technology, the VC2 is designed to automatically detect and adjust its charging current depending on both the chemistry and the condition of the cell being charged. In practice, this means that the unit typically begins charging at a steady 0.5A, ensuring a safe and stable start. Once the cell is partially replenished and able to accept a faster input, the current intelligently increases to 1A midway through the cycle.

One of the most useful functions of the XTAR VC2 is its mAh readout feature. This display allows you to track exactly how much capacity has been restored to your battery during the charging session. It’s an invaluable tool for monitoring the health and condition of your rechargeable cells over time. It is worth noting, however, that the reading shows only the capacity added in that particular charging cycle—it does not include any residual charge that may have already been present before charging began.
